Triton's
Premium-Plus Quik-Shok ammunition features a patented, high velocity hollow
point bullet developed by Tom Burczynski, inventor of the
Hydra-Shok®, Starfire® and
EFMJ® bullets. |
New For 2002 -
9mm, 357 SIG, .40 S&W and .45 ACP Quik-Shok/Hi-Vel now feature primer pocket and case mouth sealant.
.40 Super now features case mouth sealant.
Extruded (Hyper-Stressed) QS-2 bullet core
(first stage). Perfectly straight channels and small central
"hub" area severely weaken the core and guarantee
consistent fragmentation.
|
What sets the Quik-Shok apart from other bullets
is that the Quik-Shok is designed to provide controlled core separation
on impact. Unlike conventional hollow point designs, during penetration
the Quik-Shok bullet expands very rapidly and then splits into three
independent segments. These
segments continue to penetrate in three directions over an ever-widening
area within the target. This dynamic terminal action results in maximum
energy distribution and multiple wound channels.
Quik Shok's ability to rapidly transfer its energy over a large
area within a living target provides important advantages. Each sheared segment creates its own temporary cavity,
ultimately forming a series of impinging pressure zones which are believed to produce a powerful incapacitating
effect. This wide-area trauma results in maximum motor interruption in the shortest period of time.
Quik-Shok Manufacturing Stages
From
left to right: (1) QS-2 core inserted in jacket. (2) Core partially
seated. See how the size and shape of the potential segments are
uniformly maintained during compression. (3) Finished Quik-Shok hollow
point. |
Another advantage derived from the divergent paths
taken by the Quik-Shok segments is a much greater increase in the odds of striking or affecting one or more vital
organs - even in the event of a poorly placed bullet. Three permanent crush cavities produce maximum hemorrhage
due to the greater volume of tissue engaged. Quik-Shok is the ideal choice for law enforcement and personal
defense, where near instant incapacitation is critical, while eliminating the risk of over-penetration, at the
same time.
Quik-Shok's unique Hyper-Stressed™ bullet technology provieds extreme accuracy and delivers a new level of
stopping power, far exceeding that of conventional hollow point ammunition and even pre-fragmented rounds.
